On completion of above you can proceed to Bangkok* via overnight bus. This takes 12hrs at a cost of around £15.00. Buses depart between 1330 & 1630 daily but you’re advised to double-check when purchasing your ticket.
Note:
- The Bus station & Tourist Police are located 200m from the main Honda dealers in Naton (a useful landmark if language proves difficult in a taxi) There is also a Tourist Police Port-a-cabin on the road behind Mcdonalds in Chaweng.

Tourist Police Chaweng
- You’ll find a photographer everywhere around Samui for around £2-00
- The Embassy is closed at Weekends, it’s therefore better to stay on Samui & catch the bus on Sunday afternoon if you haven’t completed the above by the time the bus departs on Thursday. Be sure to check for Public Holidays too, Thailand has 16 per year.
- Only use metered taxi’s in Bangkok (& make sure its running)
- Allow 10 working days before passports are available for collection. In most cases you’ll be expected to stay in Bangkok & collect them in person.
* Domestic flights are still possible for those that have a copy of passport (available from their hotel) backed by a police report.
